Our mission

Hair loss research that respects your intelligence.

We built Happy Hair Journey because every other site we found was either selling snake oil or burying useful information under SEO sludge. The internet deserved better — and so did the millions of men quietly Googling at 2 a.m.

Happy Hair Journey started in 2023 as a personal spreadsheet. Our founder was 32, had been losing hair since 26, and was tired of buying products based on Instagram ads. He started cataloging every clinical study he could find on minoxidil, finasteride alternatives, microneedling, and the dozens of "natural" ingredients on the market.

That spreadsheet became a Notion doc. The Notion doc became a newsletter. The newsletter became a site read by tens of thousands of men every month — most of whom told us the same thing: "I wish I'd found this five years ago."

We're a small editorial team. We're not VC-backed. We do earn affiliate commissions when readers buy products we recommend — and we're transparent about that on every page. But we've turned down sponsorships, paid placements, and "guest posts" that would have compromised our rankings. The trust of our readers is the only asset we have, and we guard it accordingly.

What we stand for

Four principles guide every review, ranking, and recommendation on this site.

Evidence over opinion

Every claim is sourced from peer-reviewed clinical research, not influencer videos. Where the science is mixed, we say so.

Editorial independence

Brands cannot pay to be ranked higher. Affiliate commissions never influence what we recommend or how products are scored.

Plain-language explanations

We translate dermatology research into language you can actually use — without dumbing it down or hyping it up.

Written for real men

We've been on this journey ourselves. No miracle promises, no shame, no cringe — just practical answers to real questions.

Our methodology

How we test and review products.

Every product we feature goes through a six-stage vetting process before it earns a recommendation. Products that fail any stage don't make the list — no matter how generous the affiliate commission.
